ACTIVITIES AND ATTRACTIONS
Arts and Innovation District in downtown Myrtle Beach
The City of Myrtle Beach is committed to revitalizing the Arts and Innovation District on Ninth Avenue North in downtown Myrtle Beach. This district includes six renovated storefronts that have been preserved to show the original history of the buildings. One of the exhibits is now the HTC Aspire Hub, a co-working space where innovators and artists can thrive. La Manna Bakery will open along Ninth Avenue in the spring of 2022.
Landmark Resort Water Park
The Landmark Resort will build a 9,800-square-foot water park at its Ocean Boulevard location. The water park will feature multiple water slides and will be an exclusive amenity for Landmark Resort guests. This project will cost around $3 million and is scheduled to open this summer of 2022.

This year, Broadway at the Beach will add a new restaurant, retail store and indoor/outdoor live music venue to its entertainment district called The Hangout. Designed as a gathering place for great food, live music and family fun, The Hangout offers seasonal seafood, waterfront burgers and more made with locally sourced ingredients. The kitchen is equipped with world-class technology to serve thousands of diners every day.
Surfside Beach Pier Reconstruction
Surfside Beach is rebuilding its iconic pier, previously leveled by Hurricane Matthew in 2016, to withstand hurricane force winds, making it stronger and safer than ever. The pier will feature a restaurant and retail space and is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2022.
50 years of art in the park
The Waccamaw Guild of Arts and Crafts is hosting its 50th Year of Arts in the Park on April 23-24; October 8 and 9; and November 12 and 13 at Valor Park on the Market Common. More than 50 artists exhibiting painting, woodworking, photography, ceramics, and more travel from far and wide to participate in the art exhibit.
CONTINUOUS EXPANSION OF AIR ACCESSES
While the Myrtle Beach area remains a convenient road trip destination for many markets along the East Coast and Midwest, visitors looking to make their travels even more efficient will be delighted to learn more about the Expanded seasonal flights this year at Myrtle Beach International Airport. Among the flight updates:
spiritual airlines
With nearly 30 destinations now served by Spirit from MYR, the airline is expanding its service with new flights to Manchester, NH (MHT), Louisville, KY (SDF), St. Louis, MO (STL), Milwaukee, WI (MKE) and Rochester, New York (ROC). In addition, the airline will resume operations to Niagara Falls, NY (IAG), Indianapolis, IN (IND), Minneapolis, MN (MSP) and Houston, TX (IAH). The launch dates of the service vary and are planned from April to June.
Avelo Airlines
Avelo, MYR's newest carrier, recently announced the expansion of its East Coast network with new nonstop service from MYR to Connecticut's Tweed-New Haven (HVN) airport beginning May 5.
Resumption of flight route with Porter Airlines
Porter Airlines will resume flights to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) this spring. Canadian travelers also have direct access to Myrtle Beach, SC by flying from Detroit, MI on Spirit Air and Albany and Newburgh/Stewart, NY on Allegiant Air.
southwest airlines
Southwest Airlines continues to offer extensive service in the Myrtle Beach area with year-round flights to Atlanta, GA (ATL), Nashville, TN (BNA), Baltimore, MD (BWI) and Chicago, IL (MDW). The airline will expand its seasonal routes this spring with flights to St. Louis, MO (STL), Pittsburgh, PA (PIT), Kansas City, MO (MCI), Dallas Love Field, TX (DAL), Columbus, OH (CMH ) and Indianapolis, IN (IND). Service launch dates vary and are scheduled for March through June.
Allegiant Airlines
Allegiant's extensive offering will expand this spring with flights to Allentown, PA (ABE), Cincinnati, OH/Covington, KY (CVG), Columbus, OH (LCK), Harrisburg, PA (MDT), Pittsburgh, PA (PIT) to return. , Albany, NY (ALB), Fort Wayne, IN (FWA), Hagerstown, MD (HGR), Huntington/Ashland, WV (HTS), Syracuse, NY (SYR), Knoxville, TN (TYS), Portsmouth, NH ( PSM, Indianapolis, IN (IND), Belleville, IL (BLV), Clarksburg, WV (CKB), Lexington, KY (LEX), Newburgh/Stewart, NY (SWF) and Louisville, KY (SDF).

In addition to year-round flights to Charlotte, NC (CLT), Dallas, TX (DFW) and Philadelphia, PA (PHL), American Airlines will resume flights to Washington-National, DC (DCA) on March 3 and Chicago -Or record 'Hare, IL (ORD) on April 9.

Delta Airlines offers year-round service to Atlanta, GA (ATL), Detroit, MI (DTW) and New York, NY (LGA) and will resume seasonal service to Minneapolis, MN (MSP) on April 12.

Frontier will resume operations in MYR this spring with flights to Philadelphia, PA (PHL) on March 19, followed by Islip, NY (ISP) on April 28 and Denver, CO (DEN) on April 30.
united airlines
United Airlines is now a year-round carrier in MYR with daily flights to Newark, NJ (EWR) and Washington-Dulles (IAD). Seasonal service to Chicago-O'Hare, IL (ORD) returns March 27.
CUISINE: PREPARATION AND LOCAL PREPARATION

Taking inspiration from a favorite pub in their former hometown, owners Mary and Joseph Albanese opened Cap'n Cork on Murrells Inlet in 2021 with a craft beer taproom, wine bar, coffee shop, and bottle shop.
heirloom bistro
Opening in late 2021, Heirloom Bistro offers a farm-to-table dining experience with a three to six course prix fixe menu. The menu changes regularly, often due to the seasonality of the ingredients and the unique dishes on offer, including Wagyu beef, aged beef, wild boar chops, and Alaskan halibut, as well as a variety of fresh local fish.
Wiseguys Bar and Grill
Wiseguys Bar & Grill opened its doors at the end of 2021 and offers international favorites such as fresh Polish dishes and grilled London sandwiches, as well as live music. The restaurant features a 1920s mural of organized crime figures, living up to its nickname, the Wiseguys.
CUISINE: INSPIRED BY INTERNATIONAL FLAVORS
Jerusalem-Restaurant
The Jerusalem Restaurant, previously located on 2nd Avenue in Myrtle Beach, will now open a second location on 72nd Avenue in March. Known for its delicious Israeli cuisine with a Moroccan twist, Jerusalem offers belly dancing, karaoke, and a shisha lounge.
Koreanisches Lava-BBQ
Heri Heryadi and Chen Liu are excited to bring a popular Korean BBQ dining experience to the Myrtle Beach area. Lava Korean BBQ offers a variety of meats like bulgogi beef, ulgogi chicken, and more exotic foods like tongue and liver. Both seafood and vegetarians can enjoy the restaurant's extensive menu. Lava Korean BBQ is scheduled to open its doors to Myrtle Beach locals and visitors in March 2022.
GASTRONOMY: NEW DELIGHTS ON THE BEACH

This new restaurant concept, designed by the owners of Grumpy Monk and Sneaky Beagle, will offer around 50 craft beers and sandwiches featuring various local and regional brews and is scheduled to open in late fall 2022.
Barra de Whitaker y 1229 Shine
Whitaker's Bar, a new concept from the owners of Co Sushi, will be located in downtown Conway on Third Avenue and will offer signature cocktails and sushi-inspired small plates. The restaurant team is also behind the recently opened 1229 Shine, which offers coastal-inspired food near The Market Common in Myrtle Beach.
Carolina Cheese and Provisions
A new cheese and groceries store opened in downtown Conway on Third Avenue. This shop offers cheeses, meats, ice cream sandwiches, and wine to accompany the supplies. There are various events throughout the week, such as wine tastings on Thursdays.

Carolina Country Music Festival, June 9-12
The sixth annual Carolina Country Music Festival (CCMF) returns to Myrtle Beach with more than 30 of the biggest stars in the industry. Cast members include Luke Combs, Eric Church, Darius Rucker, Jake Owen, and many more!
World Chili Cook Off Championship, September 23-25
The World Championship Chili Cook Off returns to Myrtle Beach, SC this fall with new dates and an expanded experience that includes live music, cooking classes, chili tastings and more. The Championship is a 55-year-old cooking contest founded by racing legend Carroll Shelby.
Moo and beer 2022
The Moo & Brew Craft Beer, Burger and Music Festival returns to Myrtle Beach again in 2022! This event brought its show to Myrtle Beach for the first time in 2021 and plans to serve up delicious burgers, craft beer and music on the Grand Strand for the second year in a row.
ACCOMMODATION
Springhill Suites y Courtyard Marriott
A new offering from two Marriott brands, Springhill Suites and Courtyard by Marriott, will arrive on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach in April 2022. The new property will replace the recently demolished Breakers Resort near 21st Avenue North. The new oceanfront resort will be 26 stories tall and include rooftop amenities, including outdoor seating with fire pits.
BLUE hotel renovations
The BLUE Hotel will undergo several renovation and update works that will be completed in the spring of 2022 in anticipation of the summer season. Approximately $1 million in renovations include an in-suite kitchen upgrade; balcony updates; new furniture and improvements in the elevator car.
