In addition, the facility hosts the Veterans Day Orientation Meeting and performs more than 3,000 hours of community and school service annually. The program receives tremendous support from campus administration and the parent organization. What makes this program unique is the cross-enrollment of not one, but two schools. Lassiter is the host school and Pope and Kell High Schools send cadets to Lassiter every day. Lassiter and Pope are on a traditional 7 period schedule and Kell is on a block schedule. Schedules are spaced apart to allow for maximum class time. This position is hard work: instructors work more on weekends than days off, and a 50-hour workweek Monday through Friday is the norm. The unit averages 130 cadets and is a 2 instructor program with one of the best NSI's in the business. The position is a 12-month contract and will be available July 1, 22 with MIP plus a scholarship. Interested applicants should contact Captain Jim Minta at minta.james.snsi@navyjrotc.us and Master Sgt Lorenzo Cox at cox.lorenzo.nsi@navyjrotc.us.
